We're seeking a Billing & Collections Specialist who's unyielding with insurance companies and has a knack for turning "no: into "payment recevied".

• Knows when to push You're friendly but firm, and you know how to keep the conversation on track. If insurance companies or clients try to sidestep you, you bring them right back in line with a professional yet persistent nudge.
• Is a master communicator Calls, emails, and follow-ups are second nature to you. You're comfortable being a bit intrusiveif there's a balance due, they'll hear from you until it's resolved.
• Can handle autonomy You're a self-starter who's proactive in your approach, but you're not afraid to ask questions to ensure every detail is right.
• Takes pride in closing the books Unpaid balances keep you up at night, and getting accounts paid brings you genuine satisfaction. You're here to make a difference on the bottom line.

What You'll Do:

• Manage billing and collections with a laser focus on minimizing outstanding balances.
• Verify services provided match with appropriate billing codes the represent the highest quality services
• Collaborate with team members to resolve billing-related issues and improve collection efficiency.
• Handle insurance claims and denials, following up rigorously until payments are finalized.
• Develop and implement follow-up strategies for overdue accounts that keep communication going.
• Educate patients and families on insurance coverage, payment options, and collect their payment.
• Maintain detailed records of communication, payment plans, and follow-up efforts.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and deadline-oriented mindset
• Excellent reporting and research skills
• Proficiency in using statistics and insights
• Confidentiality and ability to manage sensitive financial information
• Effective time management and data entry skills
• Proficient in general math and basic computer applications (e.g., email, Word, Excel)
• Ability to adapt to and learn new software systems
• Positive outlook on life and the ability to adapt quickly to changes
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Up-to-date immunizations, including documentation of TB skin test
• Clean background check and valid driver's license

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience with accounting systems
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines
• Understanding of billing rules and regulations, including SFAS rules
• Familiarity with Medicaid and private insurance plans in Kentucky and Indiana
• Flexibility and a desire to learn and advance skill set
• Commitment to professional growth and competence
