Responsibilities:

  • Assist occupational therapists and assistants in implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
  • Facilitate play-based interventions and activities to promote fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, and cognitive development.
  • Support children in activities of daily living (ADL) such as dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Set up and maintain treatment areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and child-friendly environment.
  • Engage with patients in a positive and encouraging manner, building trust and rapport.
  • Assisting in the implementation of behavioral strategies.
  • Collaborate with the therapy team to monitor and document patient progress.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, providing encouragement and feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation of a supportive and inclusive therapeutic atmosphere.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or expierience in healthcare or child development is a plus.
  • Passion for working with children and a genuine interest in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Quick to learn and implement occupational therapy principles and techniques as directed by supervisor.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic outpatient clinic.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and makes sound judgments to monitor and respond to patient needs or changes in condition.
  • Ability to take ownership for serving the patient, team, and organization for achieving goals and for resolving problems.
