Responsibilities:
- Assist occupational therapists and assistants in implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
- Facilitate play-based interventions and activities to promote fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, and cognitive development.
- Support children in activities of daily living (ADL) such as dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Set up and maintain treatment areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and child-friendly environment.
- Engage with patients in a positive and encouraging manner, building trust and rapport.
- Assisting in the implementation of behavioral strategies.
- Collaborate with the therapy team to monitor and document patient progress.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, providing encouragement and feedback.
- Contribute to the creation of a supportive and inclusive therapeutic atmosphere.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or expierience in healthcare or child development is a plus.
- Passion for working with children and a genuine interest in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Quick to learn and implement occupational therapy principles and techniques as directed by supervisor.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic outpatient clinic.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and makes sound judgments to monitor and respond to patient needs or changes in condition.
- Ability to take ownership for serving the patient, team, and organization for achieving goals and for resolving problems.
