Your Daily Tasks & Responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist:

In this role, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists and other professionals to make a remarkable impact on children's lives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Screening & Evaluation for Occupational Therapy.
  • Administer and interpret standardized assessments that identify deficits related to ADLs, IADLs, motor skills, sensory processing, cognition, social interaction, attention, and adaptive equipment.
  • Make progress with patients directly and indirectly through occupational therapy treatment with home education programs.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, Clinical Students, Interns, & Volunteers at a project level.
  • Provide ongoing support to children and families, ensuring a positive and encouraging therapeutic experience.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to support the whole child.
  • Stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Celebrate patient success such that they are an inspiration for others!

Qualifications: To succeed in this role as an Occupational Therapist, you should meet the following requirements...

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.
  • Registration obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a. Occupational Therapist as required in the state of Kentucky.
  • Ability to develop creative and engaging therapy activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Additional Skills: Highly Desirable

  • Efficiency without giving up effectiveness with your time.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental needs.
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children
  • Knowledge of sensory integration techniques
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Understanding of behavior management strategies
  • Experience with handwriting and fine motor skills development
  • Ability to provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers
